Carlos F. Rodriguez – Of Counsel
Attorney, Carlos F. Rodriguez represents clients in a variety of legal matters including corporate structures, commercial litigation, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, real estate litigation and transactions, estate planning and probate matters.
Carlos also serves as outside general counsel to several auto finance companies, automobile dealerships, general (construction) contractors, real estate developers, oil and fuel wholesalers and distributors, and charter airlines. In addition, Carlos has drafted and negotiated a multitude of employment, talent and real estate contracts for amongst others, corporations, musicians, entertainers and athletes.
Carlos is an NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor and has been a Licensed Athlete Agent in the states of Florida, Illinois, Mississippi, Iowa, South Carolina, Arizona, Oregon and Colorado. He represents and has negotiated millions of dollars in contracts for various athletes including several NFL football players.
Prior to attending law school, Carlos was an entrepreneur in finance and real estate, as both a former licensed mortgage broker and real estate agent. While managing a family owned sub-prime auto finance company and real estate development firm, Carlos, negotiated, originated, and closed a variety of multi-million dollar transactions and finance contracts, including the acquisition of institutional lender finance facilities and secondary market sales of bulk loan packages.
Carlos’ experience ranges from litigating complex civil matters, drafting, negotiating and managing everything from large asset based finance facilities (credit lines) to entertainment and sports related employment agreements, and protecting contractor, association, and lien holder rights. This wide range of legal experience combined with his practical and entrepreneurial background, make Carlos ideally suited for his general and commercial practice, as well as for serving as corporate general counsel.
Carlos, a native South Floridian, attended Belen Jesuit Prep School, received his undergraduate degree cum laude from Barry University, and his law degree with advocacy honors from Nova Southeastern University, where he earned membership to the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (mock trial organization). Carlos is fluent in both English and Spanish, and is admitted to practice law in the State of Florida and the United States District Court – Southern District of Florida.
